If this is not an app, then what is it? With This Is Not an App, you’ll transform your tablet or phone into a place to stash secrets, a way to procrastinate, a spot to record dreams and memories, a living picture frame, a souvenir of the world, and more. Discover a world of possibility right at your fingertips, using fun drawing tools and more than 50 ideas to inspire your creative process.

From the creators of Wreck This App comes an imaginative exploration into all the different things an app can be. Daily Candy calls the app “…a genius application from the mind-bending team behind cult-loved alterna-journal This Is Not a Book.” Based on the idiosyncratic favorite by author and illustrator Keri Smith, This Is Not an App “…offers perhaps that most elusive thing: a chance to be creative,” according to Wired Insider.

Pros and cons of This Is Not an App app for iPhone and iPad

This Is Not an App app good for

I like this app just as much as the book. On the app we need more pages or be able to add pages. And add the other books you made too ... On the iPad thanks
great app if you liked the books. only thing id like is the ability to type out words. its hard to draw letters on my tiny iphone screen. other than that perfect

Some bad moments

It make me be creative and when Im really bored I just open it and start writing random stuff
I read some reviews of this online and was intrigued. I will explore and revisit my review when I know how I feel about it. For now, Im giving it 5 stars.
Its a bunch of pages of creativity prompts. Which means its low on content--one line from K. Smith and then you can write or draw in the template. Its all a bit underwhelming: moreso in light of the apps purpose. Save the $5. Go buy a notebook. Fill it with what moves you, the things you see, but mostly with those things you cant see!
After reading some unfavorable reviews online I was hesitant to purchase this app. If I recall, someone said that the app was developed specifically for the unimaginative. After trying it out, I respectfully disagree! As far as recording insightful thoughts, I am an avid art journalist. I use mixed media for my hard copy, as well as a digital art journal on my iPad. I may be many things but unimaginative certainly isnt one of them. If you cant turn these prompts into a creative outlet then I fear it may be you who is lacking in imagination. I love this app for a quick creative burst!
my friend had the actual book so I got the app to try it out and it is totally not worth 5 bucks the book is way better then the app.
I chose this app because it had higher ratings and better reviews then Wreck This App. I found it to be very boring and uninteresting. It was not what I was expecting at all. It is a waste of $5. It would be an okay app if it was free but I dont even think 99¢ is an appropriate price. Very disappointed and mad about my loss. I would not recommend this app to anyone.
